C'era una volta
a grotesque revue about fairy tales
They had ready red-hot iron shoes,
in which she had to dance until she fell down dead
(Grimms' Brothers, "Snow White")
C’era una volta, the new play by Ondadurto Teatro, is much more than just another show about princesses and heroes.
The fairy imagination, fixed in our memories thorough mitigated versions, will be transformed, so that habitual lines between Good and Evil will change and become very evanescent.
C'era una volta will rather follow unknown traces of well-known fairies, blending stories and legends coming from the tradition of great authors, from Grimms' Brothers to Lewis Carroll, and inspired by Johann Karl August Musäus and Hans Christian Andersen. re-read in noire atmosphere and “sweet-and-sour” taste.
C’era una volta is a colorful and enchanting revue, a multimedia show in which the technological contaminations contribute to create an expanded experience for the audience. It's a contemporary play that shuffles the ancient tradition by throwing away the “good and sweet” aroma.
We will discover the dark side of Red Riding Hood. Snow White may hide something different, revealing her “not so white” nature…and why not to imagine light, sweet, melancholic sides on Witches and Stepmothers?
Ondadurto Teatro is a theatre company based in Rome in 2004 and directed by its founders Marco Paciotti and Lorenzo Pasquali.
