Joan Català

physical theatre

ES

Originality is return to the source. This is the leitmotif of the artistic work by Joan Català.

Joan Català (1978, Barcelona) describes himself as a curious observer interested in visual art and movement. His family history related to metallurgy and craft work nourish him and is an important pillar in his way of concieving performing arts. Català understands the stage as a space for dialogue between humans, objects and the environment where game and work melt together with the tools, experiences and ideas that each of us bring. Trained in contemporary dance, physical theater and clown with different professionals.

In 2012, after several collaborations, Català starts to develop his own approach around scenic arts.
